Microsoft redesigns Copilot with Home, Code and Autopilot tabs
Microsoft redesigned Copilot as an integrated application with three tabs: Home, Code and Autopilot. Home combines Copilot Chat, the Cowork agent and tools for creating and editing Word, Excel and PowerPoint files; Code lets users build applications and automations by describing them in natural language; and Autopilot is a proactive agent that keeps working even when the user is offline. The Today panel brings together relevant emails, meetings and Teams conversations.
According to The Verge, Cowork, Code and Autopilot will be billed based on usage, including long-running agentic capabilities and use of the Astra and Fable models. Autopilot is expected to enter private preview this month; Home and Code will begin rolling out to the Frontier program in the coming weeks, while Code will also get a preview for Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers later this year.
