Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is reportedly set to have dinner with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, Axios reported, as cited by TechCrunch. TechCrunch said it confirmed the plans with a source familiar with the matter. It will be the two men’s first one-on-one meeting; they recently took opposing positions in the debate over artificial intelligence safety. Amodei advocated slowing AI development or proceeding more cautiously, while Trump said, without providing evidence, that the backlash against AI was a Democratic hoax and called for the technology to be rebranded as “super intelligence.”
