Reco raises $55 million as AI agent security market crowds

Reco announced a $55 million raise, building on the $30 million Series B announced in February and bringing its total funding to $140 million. AT&T, through its venture arm, Forestay and Quadrille Capital participated in the extension. The company has more than 100 customers, according to TechCrunch, and says its annual recurring revenue is in the double-digit millions of dollars and is expected to triple this year.

The startup has repositioned its product to connect agents with apps, people, accounts and permissions, allowing security teams to see and limit their access. Co-founder and CEO Ofer Klein told TechCrunch that the platform found 21,000 unknown agents at one Fortune 100 company. At another, a financial services customer, Reco says it identified an agent set up by a former employee that could access Salesforce and share data with a domain the company could not see. TechCrunch identified at least two dozen companies operating in the market.

Why it matters · editorial interpretation

The funding and customer growth suggest that agent security is attracting investment and competition. Reco’s cited examples also indicate that mapping agents’ permissions and access could be a practical need for security teams, although the figures are company claims or reported by TechCrunch.
