Google announced Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, which is available in the Gemini API and Gemini for business. The company says the model natively generates and edits videos up to 15 seconds long, up from 10 seconds in the previous version, allows duration to be set in one-second increments, and costs 30% less at $0.07 per second for 720p.
The update also adds multi-turn conversational editing, allowing users to change products, settings, lighting, weather, or aspect ratio without regenerating the video from scratch. Google says the model better preserves the identity of characters, objects, scenes, and visual references throughout a clip, while also offering more natural speech, clearer lip-sync, and support for multiple speakers.
Why it matters · editorial interpretation
Conversational editing and duration control could make precise adjustments easier in video-creation workflows, without requiring a complete regeneration for every change. For API and Gemini for business users, the announced per-second price also lowers the stated video cost compared with the previous version.
